About
AJ Spencer is the founder of Tango Futuro, starting out with just Milonga Futuro in January 2024. 2025 marked the beginning of Milonga Vino, which started as a project of opportunity, and has become a mainstay of Futuro. As of 2026, he is on the Board of Directors of Tango Colorado as an event and outreach coordinator, looking to bring tango to more people in Colorado. In that same effort, he has started teaching weekly classes with Loki at a local Recreation and Senior center, looking for more tango visibility.
AJ is a huge proponent of taking traditions and bringing them into a modern audience, which was the original idea that started Tango Futuro. Without a bit of change, many traditions fade into obscurity, which is not going to be the fate of Tango. We will bring it to new audiences and take new approaches to ensure the Future of Tango is a bright one.

Milonga Futuro
This is where it all began for AJ. Tired of no one offering an alternative music night that he so craved, he decided to put it together himself. Not only did this show him what it takes to run a milonga, but it also caused him to get into graphic design, web design, lighting design, and all the technical work that shows in each project. Despite all of the setbacks and hiccoughs along the way, Milonga Futuro is now the flagship of Tango Futuro and sets the standard for other projects.
